All items submitted to SFC should be properly inventoried and tracked.  This ensures that Chain of Custody rules will not be broken.  Once in our facility, all evidence will be properly secured and maintained prior to returning the evidence to the submitter.  Typically evidence and/or packaging should be marked with a unique identifier, date and initials.  Submission to SFC by a tracked mail service is suggested, e.g. Federal Express.
